This painting was accepted into and shown in the juried Pride In Art Society Art Show and Festival named "Gender Twist" at the Roundhouse Gallery in Vancouver, BC Canada during Pride Week, summer of 2008. Jury members were renowned artist Persimmon Blackbridge, Vancouver Gallery owner John Ramsey and curator Martijn vanOoststroom.

The show "Gender Twist" was originally slated to run at the Roundhouse the year before in 2007 but was, at the last minute cancelled due to the Vancouver Civic Labour Strike - thus the reason the show was later mounted in 2008.

weaver painted this piece specifically for the Vancouver Pride In Art Society Show named, "Gender Twist"... that year's show theme primarily focused on gender based art.

• The painting is on canvas, at 48 inches X 48 inches (4 feet by 4 feet) hand painted in acrylic by Vancouver artist, carol weaver.

• The outer writing within the outside border reads...

" • true story... everybody thot i wuz a boy...
so i got my hair permed thinkin' that would fix it...
but that just made it worse, so, then i smoked a peterson pipe..."
